The Department of Management Studies was established in 1995 with the new generation job oriented programme, Bachelor in Business Management (BBM), for the first time in the University. This is the only Department in the University offering BBM programme in the aided stream. Dr. V.P. Thomas was the first Head of the Department and Dr. C.T Francis bears the position at present.

Management Association – MASS
MASS is an vibrant and active association of students, which organize several programmes and events for sharpening their competency and excellence. MASS is a golden opportunity for students to exhibit their managerial, social and cultural skills on the single platform. They also organize the mega inter-collegiate management fest – CHRYSALIS every year, which is an exposure for the future managers.
News Bulletin – Extravaganza
The Department is publishing an internal newsletter, Extravaganza, annually to communicate all the initiatives of the Department and MASS in that academic year.
Alumni Association – ASJOMA
ASJOMA is excellently functioning in the college offering their assistance, both personal and financial, towards the initiatives of the Department. The annual meeting of the members is organized on 26 December every year in the college auditorium along with the other alumni associations in the college.
ASJOMA is a platform for alumni of the Department to find out, connect and keep in touch with old friends, lost love and business contacts. It also provide opportunity for them to constitute face book groups wherein they can maintain user profiles, share photos with friends, post reunions and other events and also contact updates.
ASJOMA’s effort to start its Dubai and Bangalore Chapters is running fine and is supposed that it may start functioning by the end of November 2016.
Scholarships – James Thomas Memorial Endowment
A scholarship instituted by the parents of Sri. James Thomas Vengayil, Mylakombu, in loving memory of their son Sri. James Thomas (Jimmy), former student of the Department who died in an accident on 24th May 1999. The Endowment fund is Rs.50,000/-. The scholarship is given to the top scorer of B.B.M. programme every year out of the interest of the fund. A part of the interest is used for providing financial aid to B.B.M. students on merit – cum means basis.
